Water Filtration/Purification Resources
More than half your body weight is water - 75% of muscle tissue and 25% of fat tissue is water. It's no wonder water is so important to your health and overall well-being. More importantly, we all need pure filtered water to maintain our health. Pure healthy water can be obtained with water filtration methods. Stay away from tap water and distilled water.
Filtered water can be obtained through low-cost filters, such as those available here. A highly recommended filter is the Aquasana Drinking Water System, which was top rated in Consumer Digest Magazine.
Tap water contains chlorine and in some cases fluoride and other toxic substances. When you drink the amount of water required each day these substances can have negative affects on the body.
Distilled water also has negative effects on your body. Distilled water has been linked to hair loss, which is associated with specific mineral deficiencies. It has the wrong pH, oxidation potential, polarization and ionization and can drain your body of necessary minerals.
How Much Water do You Need?
Most sources will tell you we all need 8 glasses of water a day. This however varies from person to person. A small child will certainly need less water than an adult. As a general rule you should drink one quart of filtered water per day for every 50 pounds of body weight. A person who weighs 150 lbs, should drink three quarts per day. Athletes should drink even more than that.

Contaminants In Tap Water
Do you know what contaminants are in your tap water? The only way to be sure is to have your water tested by a certified laboratory. The EPA does regulate the amount of acceptable contamination in tap water. However, did you know there are also many unregulated contaminants. These "Secondary Drinking Water Regulations" are only guidelines and are not enforceable. For more information on these contaminants click here
What About Well Water?
The Safe Drinking Water Act does not apply to private wells. These regulations apply only to "public drinking water systems" - companies or agencies that supply drinking water to 25 or more people or have 15 service connections or more. If you own your own well, it is your responsibility to make sure your water is safe. It is highly recommended that you use some type of water filtration system for all your water and have your water tested regularly.
